When collab means Co.Lab

We all know that the workplace has changed. Working from home has become a thing, and actually makes sense for some. Many of us though, are now seeking new and innovative ways to do business in collaborative and creative settings. BlueSky Co.Lab’s amazing facility in the Perth CBD is an elegant space designed to facilitate working and learning in a technology-focussed, supportive environment geared towards growth and innovation. The crew at Co.Lab are all about collaboration – for business owners, founders, innovators, communities, and leaders of the future.

That’s why I am so excited to be joining together with the Co.Lab in a fantastic initiative to foster creative, inter-disciplinary alliances, and support local artists. The partnership will include the long-term exhibition of my original artworks within corporate spaces in the Perth CBD. I’ve consulted closely with the Co.Lab crew, and they have allowed me full creative freedom to create a bespoke collection of original paintings that will enhance the space, spark creativity, and promote connection. It’s fantastic that the management team loved my work, and felt that it represented the dynamics of their approach. One of the great things about this collaboration is that I retain ownership so I can continue to advertise and sell the works, meaning the Co.Lab also gets to enjoy a vibrant, ever-evolving body of work.  It’s collaboration in the best sense of the word; when all parties genuinely work together, and put some skin in the game while focussing on mutual benefits .

Under this new partnership program, I’ll also be personally curating quarterly pop-up exhibitions in the Co.Lab’s beautiful reception space – featuring local artists – as well as hosting and organising artist talks and other artful events throughout the year. What a brilliant way to support emerging artists by getting their work into new spaces, and brokering new opportunities!

I’m thrilled to be joining this innovative team and I am looking forward to the mutual opportunities that will unfold.

In the meantime, I’m hard at work creating pieces for their collection, and looking forward to meeting other Co.Lab members at the Grand Opening on 4 February.
