Michael Bang for Holmegaard, Atlantis Vase c1980s

$150.00
SOLD

The Atlantis range by Michael Bang is a collection of glassware designed for Holmegaard Glassworks in Denmark in 1981.

Michael Bang was a renowned Danish designer, best known for his work with Holmegaard Glassworks. He was the son of Jacob E. Bang, Holmegaard’s first designer, and his career included stints at Bjørn Wiinblad’s workshop, the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Factory, and Ekenäs Glasbruk.

At Holmegaard, Bang became known for his innovative designs that combined simplicity with practicality, often adding a unique twist or fun shape to his glass creations. His designs from the 1960s - 1980s are highly sought after by collectors.

This Atlantis vase is made using three layers of glass, with opaque white glass featuring streaks and threads of blue and brown in organic patterns.  Each item from the Atlantis collection is unique, and this example is in excellent vintage condition.

Please carefully note the dimensions as it can often be difficult to determine accurate sizes from the photos.
