Anna Ehrner is both a designer and glass artist whose work is characterized by her simple design language. She creates effectful pieces with a minimal approach to colour; lines of colour within the glass has become a recurring feature. Her creations are often born out of the glass itself, together with inspiration from nature.
Anna has been a designer and maker with Kosta Boda since 1974. and is the designer behind several successful collections such as Contrast and Line. She has been awarded with the Excellent Swedish Form award in 1992 and 1994 for her design, and was the winner of Swedish Glass in 1983.
This large Contrast platter/bowl features organic swirls of cobalt blue of varying shades embedded within the thick crystal glass surface in her 'centrifugation' style. This example bears the Kosta Boda inscription to the base.
