Ruby Red Glass Vase by Gerry Reilly c1993

This large, elegant, handblown vase by renowned Australian glassmaker Gerry Reilly features a winding pattern of translucent ruby-red lines, overlaid with marks of amber, chocolate and blue, intensified at both the base and the neck of the vessel. The effect is dynamic and energetic, and the intertwining patttern dances beautifully in the light. The shape is voluptuous, with a rounded bulbous body, tapering to a fluted neck with rounded edge.

Gerry Reilly settled in the Margaret River region of WA in the 1980s, after intensive glassblowing training both in Australia and overseas. His work is highly regarded, with pieces held in the Ebeltoft Glasmuseum, Denmark, and major works featured in hotels, corporate spaces, and Optus Stadium. He has exhibited widely in local, national, and international galleries.

This gorgeous vase is in excellent condition, and is clearly inscribed to the base.
